Clive Wesson holds over 45 years’ experience in the motor industry. Clive spent three years working as a Regional Manager for Volkswagen South Africa, gaining valuable wholesale experience andhas also completed a vast number of motor industry specific sales, after-sales, business management and regulatory courses. In 2000, Clive established Auto Deal, a pre-owned motor dealership which is to this day, successfully owned and managed by Clive. He thrives on finding solutions to the challenging nature of the motor industry and specifically to problems that an independent pre-owned and new motor dealer faces in an ever-changing business environment, especially with all the new legislation that a dealer is required to comply with. Clive is an avid motor sports fan, having competed on a national level himself. Clive won the inaugural Group N Class C championship in 1985 and has since been involved in preparing many a championship-winning race car for various competitors, including his son, Kurt Wesson. He kick-started his automotive career by working at Bailey Edward Cars building Ford GT 40s from the ground up. Kurt was eventually promoted to his current position as Operations Manager at Auto Deal, where he oversees and manages all operational aspects within the car dealership. He is exceptionally passionate about motor racing, his 18-year racing career has spanned from national Go-Kart racing, off-road rallying and circuit racing, where he continues to excel. He is an expert in customer relations and all areas of the retail automotive industry, as well as optimising business performance.
